Ever since I was young, I have had an interest in creating my own outfits, which has slowly fostered a creative mind within me. I’d make my own makeshift fashion shows, tap dance in my grandma's fancy wool coats to melodies I imagined in my mind, and performed plays in my yard with my dad’s work lights acting as my spotlight with the help, and sometimes reluctance, of my four other siblings. Things started to change once I got into high school and realized my passion for digital illustration, digital and film photography, and fashion design. With the trust I had built among my art teachers, they allowed me to turn a corner of the vacant photography room into my own studio, where I housed a small sewing machine and filled the walls with findings on sewing. It was then that art being something I could pursue as a career clicked for me.

Currently, I’m pursuing Fashion Design and Fashion Photography at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Creating designs by researching upcoming colors, textiles, silhouettes, and aesthetics is work I find compelling, especially when you can tell a story through your work. Upon graduating from the Savannah College of Art and Design, I plan to draw inspiration from vintage styles, part of my Navajo heritage, political influences, and my own fascinations to guide my design decisions. You'll notice my work often revolves around the idea of being a traveler or outsider; someone who may not belong anywhere, yet finds a rhythm in nature and circumstances. By creating designs I am proud of, I hope to honor my developing style.
